![]() It will take a LOT for him to redeem himself for pulling that shit, or maybe he won't ever redeem himself.Įdit2: I'm glad the family at least got the Patek watch, that was at least something. Roman is 100% my least favorite by FAR now. I can see people calling Kendall a dick for making the call about the "source close to the family" part, but Roman was SOOOOOO much more a piece of shit for doing the million dollar bet thing with that little kid. I empathize massively more with Kendall's frustrations about his situation.Įdit: Nearing the end of the episode. Roman doing the "comedy relief" of making fun of the "stiff suits" felt utterly forced and like he was purposefully placed in the show to make dumb jokes that teenager/early 20-somethings might like/resonate with who haven't worked in a corporate environment before. Not done with the first episode yet, but I already like Kendall more than anyone else on the show, and massively more than Roman, but maybe that will change lol Old post I guess, but I'm giving this show a try right now. Succession returns in darkly funny form, with sharp writing, exceptional performances, and a surprising new level of sympathy for some of television's least likable characters. It feels like the point is to make you see parallels with yourself in the family drama, despite it being billions of dollars from a truly relatable experience.Įdit: Here is the Rotten Tomatoes summary: I think as the show progresses, the creators wanted you to emphasize with characters, while still maintaining them as being shitty people overall. Cameron supplies a lot of engaging storylines later on as well.Īnd Greg is fucking awesome. Shiv becomes more prominent of a character, and while not entirely likable, she becomes such an interesting character. Kendall shows his struggles and you can emphasize with him more. What Roman did at the baseball game was infuriating, and Kendall just seemed like the most entitled little punk imaginable.īut Roman starts to show his sense of humor later on and becomes more likable. ![]() In the first few episodes, the kids all come off as terrible people with no redeemable qualities. I agree that it just feels really bland and middling and I’m struggling to understand at this point why the show got so much acclaim for later seasons. ![]() They all just kind of run around doing the same stupid shit as each other, no actions feel like they were inevitable course of the characters according to their flaws. ![]() Season 2, on the other hand, is nothing special, none of the characters are the same as in Season 1 and the way they’re written is jarring from the first episode of Season 2. The plot is interwoven expertly and character actions feel like truly necessary behavior for their motivations.ĭefinitely a harder watch than the show that follows but I found it to be gripping right up until the climax of the season. I loved the unique way season 1 was written… slow moving and suspenseful with some really dark humor intermixed. It’s basically a different show after the season 1. Watching it through for the first time now. ![]()
